2 c flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 c shortening
1/3 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 egg
1 c nuts
1 c apples, chopped
1 c raisins
1/4 c milk
Sift together dry ingredients. Mix shortening, sugar and egg. Mix all together and add nuts, raisins, apples and milk. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees until edges of cookies are golden brown. Remove to rack to cool. Then spread with a thin layer of glaze.
GLAZE:
Blend together:
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tbsp soft butter
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 tbsp milk
